A 2022 Christmas Message

Greetings Grace Temple Family:

Christmas is a busy time of year for all of us. However, we know that Jesus is the reason for the season! There is nothing wrong with Christians taking part in the pomp and circumstance that the entire world may be joining in during this season.  The world is busy with shopping, planning, baking and even sharing.  There is a certain kindness that reveals itself during this time of year. This human-kindness is exhibited by men, women, boys, and girls from all walks of life.

This human-kindness takes many forms and is referred to by many names.  There are acts of kindness in giving of monetary items, such as presents, gift cards and even buying a person a meal.  There is the gift of being present, like visiting one another, attending a social or just being available by phone. This human-kindness makes us feel better. However, you and I know “a feeling is not a fact”.

In order to truly be better, one must have something that last beyond the season of human-kindness.  That something one must have is a true relationship with Jesus Christ, who was made both Lord and Savior with His victory over death, hell and the grave.  His victory was made possible by fulfilling the scripture in the Book of Matthew, which states (in part):

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Matthew 1:21-23

The very best gift or display of human-kindness you can give this season is the message of Christ.  The best way to give this message is to live before them each day, but especially during this time when the world’s attention is focused on our Lord and Savior.

Keep being who you already are and keep loving on those you meet.  We are living epistles read of men, so make the Lord proud of you this season.  God Bless you and your house, in Jesus’ Name!

Yours in His Service,

Pastor Harris
