As we embark on the month of February, we are reminded of the rich tapestry of history woven by the contributions of Black individuals across the globe. Our current and past triumphs are attributed to our faith in Jesus Christ, in whom we move, live and have our being. This month, we come together to celebrate Black History Month, a time to honor the resilience, achievements, and culture that have shaped our world. Black History Month is not only a reflection on the struggles and challenges faced by the Black community throughout history, but also a celebration of the remarkable individuals who have overcome adversity to make significant contributions to various fields. From science to arts, politics to sports, Black pioneers have left an indelible mark on our society.
This month provides us with an opportunity to delve into the stories of those who have paved the way for progress, inspiring us to build a more inclusive and equitable future. It is a time to amplify Black voices, acknowledge the importance of unity, and stand in solidarity with those who continue to fight for justice and equality.
As we engage in discussions, events, and educational initiatives throughout Black History Month, let us reflect on the lessons of the past and commit ourselves to fostering a more inclusive and understanding society. By learning about the diverse experiences and achievements within the Black community, we gain a deeper appreciation for the strength that comes from unity. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Hebrews: “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us. May this month serve as a catalyst for ongoing dialogue, education, and action.
Yours in His Service,
Elect-Lady Harris
