Thanksgiving Message 2022

Glory to God, from whom all blessings flow!

Thanksgiving is a day that has been celebrated by our country since 1692. However, Christians have practiced a life of being thankful long before then.

One of the cornerstones of Christianity is being thankful, which is the quality of being grateful with a readiness to show appreciation and to return kindness.  As we live in a state of the acknowledgment of the great sacrifice that was made by our risen Savior, Jesus Christ we have reason to be thankful.  As the scripture has declared in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

With this year’s trials behind us, we look forward to what God will do in the coming year.  Let us not be distracted from the glory or the story of how He sacrificed His only begotten Son, so that we might have life and life more abundantly!

Let us look to what is right, what is working, what we have accomplished, and what we have.  Let us shy away from focusing on what is wrong, not working, unaccomplished or what we are lacking, for with God all things are possible! If God be for you, who can be against you?

This Thanksgiving, let us all set our affections on things above. Stand still and know that He alone is God.  You have every reason to be thankful. Since God is on our side, we can continue to count our blessings.
