Running Interference

By Joshua Harris Matthew 17:15-18 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.  17:16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.  17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.  17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Who do you have or know that will stop you from jumping into the fire? God loves us too much to let us destroy ourselves. David understood that Gods love for us isn't dependent on our obedience, “If I made my bed in hell....”.  He (God) will always search for His lost piece. He's a jealous God. He’s our parent and parents don't let their kids do whatever they want.  They sometimes run interference between their children's plans. You thought you were gonna give up but God ran interference , you thought you'd give in to all your lust but God ran interference, you thought you could find ways to achieve without Christ but God interference, you thought you'd give up on finding love and getting married but God ran interference Who do you have in your corner to run interference? If no one else you have a Jealous God that loves you too much to let you destroy yourself. You have  a jealous God who wants you so bad He gave His only begotten son who stretched His arms wide and didn't stop there but got up with ALLLL power and left you with a comforter which by the way is the action part of God. Now, it wasn't until the boy made it to Jesus that the devil was cast out. It was the boys father that kept him alive. Sometimes you need someone in your life or you to be the person in someone else's life that safeguard until you make it to Jesus.  What if the boys father had given up on him?  He wouldn't have made it to the master Don't give up on that family member.  I know it gets tiresome constantly pulling someone out of the fire that they keep jumping into.  But if you could just run interference long enough for them to get to Jesus they WILL be delivered.  God is running interference for you so how dare you not do it for your neighbor?
