Winning a battle does not mean the war is over. We must remain steadfast in the ongoing spiritual war trust in God beyond individual battles ultimate victory is found in Him alone 8 And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. (1 Sam 30:8) You need permission You need direction Battles Are Temporary, But the War Is Long A single victory does not determine the final outcome. • Example from the Bible: Israel’s victory over Jericho (Joshua 6) was a great battle won, but the conquest of Canaan was far from over. After their triumph, they faced defeat at Ai (Joshua 7) due to sin in the camp. One battle didn’t secure the war; continuous obedience and faith in God were necessary. Battles Are Temporary, But the War Is Long Setbacks are not final defeats. • Example from the Bible: Peter denied Jesus three times (Luke 22:54-62). At that moment, it seemed like Peter had lost his spiritual battle. But after Jesus' resurrection, Peter was restored and became one of the greatest apostles, preaching on the day of Pentecost where 3,000 souls were saved (Acts 2).
